Service Description

The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), is a widely used, standardised assessment that observes and codes communication, social interaction, play, and restricted or repetitive behaviours. What’s included: ADOS-2 administration (Module chosen based on age and language) Comprehensive diagnostic report including: Detailed behavioural observations ADOS-2 algorithm and comparison scores Classification (Autism / Autism Spectrum / Non-spectrum) Clinical interpretation of autism traits and diagnostic relevance DSM-5 support level (Level 1, 2, or 3) if applicable Individualised recommendations for home, school, ongoing support, and next steps This service does not include cognitive or adaptive testing. Medicare rebates may apply with a referral from a paediatrician or psychiatrist under item 82000 (Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorders Scheme). If your child has an existing NDIS plan and you intend to use NDIS funding for this assessment, please select “NDIS Participants” from the booking menu. Disclaimer: NDIS funding may only be used where the assessment supports functional needs, capacity building, or plan goals. The ADOS-2 is a tool that may form part of a broader diagnostic assessment. It is the responsibility of the participant, Plan Manager, or Support Coordinator to confirm whether this service is eligible for funding under their current plan.
